Self-Portraits

We used collage to create self-portraits. I love how much some of these projects actually look like the kids. So creative!
This is Payton! She even made the flower from her hair.

Adjectives are Awesome

All week we have been exploring how fun adjectives can be. This activity was picking a noun and pairing it with a random verb. Then we had to draw a picture of our noun/verb combo! Lots of laughs!!!

Yes, that says "Stinky Mrs. G"

Create-a-story

We did a fun activity on Thursday that not only encouraged us to write, but also made us laugh! We used magazines to find funny and interesting pictures. We cut them out, glued the pictures on our paper, and then tried to come up with great stories. And as always, sharing is 1/2 the fun!

Taking Each Other Out For a Walk

This week we read a story called "Henry and Mudge". It's all about a boy and his dog and how they like to spend time together in the fall. Acting out this story was so much fun! I had to laugh at our classroom full of canines!

Kali takes her puppy Alivia for a walk
There's Jaycee counting the birds flying south
Can you see all those pups?

I With I Wath a Fith

To help us practice our digraph sounds, we have been singing a funny little song. It goes a little like this...

In case you didn't get all of that, the lyrics are:

I with I wath a fith
I with I wath a fith
I'd thwim and thwim the deep blue thea
I with I wath a fith

I with I wath a thip
I with I wath a thip
I'd thail and thail the deep blue thea
I with I wath a thip

I with I wathn't a thimp
I with I wathn't a thimp
I'd thing a thong that had some thense
I with I wathn't a thimp

Now we split up into groups and each group sang our silly song using a different digraph sound. Can you guess which sound each group chose?

Phases of the Moon 3D animation

Studying the moon is alway interesting. We watched this animation to show us waxing and waning. We had fun trying to identify the different phases of the moon.

(Give it a second...it takes a little bit for the light to show up)
