An Oldie But a Goodie

In class, we are currently reading James and the Giant Peach by Roald Dahl. Does that take you back to your childhood? Students love this book! It's imaginative, humorous, a little unruly, and totally engaging! If you are looking for a topic of conversation with your second grader, try bringing up this book! What do they think? And if they love it, Roald Dahl has a dozen books that are just as great! Happy reading!

Making Craters

To simulate the cool texture of the craters on the moon, we used Elmer's glue to make our own textures for rubbings. After the glue had dried, we used moon templates and crayons to rub the craters onto our moons. Then we cut it all out, glued it on a poster, and next we will be finishing the final illustrations! I love how the textures all turned out unique and different!
