PJ DAY!!!!

It took us THREE WHOLE MONTHS to earn our class reward of a PJ day!  Nothing is better than coming to school in snuggly clothes, and comfy slippers, and bonding over a wonderful book.  Even though the school's network crashed, and we weren't able to watch James and the Giant Peach like we planned, we did the next best thing...ACTING out scenes from James!  We also created group murals depicting some of our favorite scenes!  Second grade is a wonderful place to be!!!

Silly kids loving life in pajamas!

TWINNERS!

SAME SLIPPERS!!!

Both Monster Feet!

Running through scripts together...

Henry and Mudge Acting

One of the best ways to reinforce the reading we've done in class, is to turn to the arts and use our acting skills to help us tell the story.  The book Henry and Mudge is all about a boy and his big dog Mudge.  The kids had so much fun not only acting out this book, but also watching themselves on the playback!

Enjoy!

Doubling the Fun

Working on mastering our Doubles facts has been a lot of fun!  Working with partners, making magical doubling pots, playing games, and practicing with flash cards have all been ways that we've become "double-y" good mathematicians!

"Digging For Doubles" in action!

We loved this book about a couple who finds a magic replicating brass pot!
